As a Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and optimizing shop floor operations. You'll refine work instructions, tooling documents, and inspection programs, tackle production challenges alongside the Operations team, and lead impactful projects that boost performance and efficiency across manufacturing.

Tasks

As a

Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer

, you will be responsible for the following:

Create and update manufacturing instructions, tooling, and inspection documentation. Lead cross-functional projects to implement effective manufacturing solutions. Develop new processes and layouts to improve throughput, flexibility, and compliance. Identify waste, analyse root causes, and deliver sustainable improvements. Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, cost, and timing goals. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with Operations teams. Analyse performance data and recommend improvements. Drive continuous improvement using Lean, process mapping, and statistical tools. Support equipment maintenance and manage tooling/equipment data in SAP. Optimise workflows through time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis. Behind the scenes

Requirements

The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:


Education & Qualifications




HND (or higher) in Mechanical discipline with strong CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred). Training in Lean, Continuous Improvement, and SPC desirable.

Experience & Knowledge



3-5 years leading manufacturing/engineering projects with proven process improvements. Strong Lean and problem-solving skills (Pareto, DMAIC, OEE, 5 Whys, 8D). Experienced in technical documentation, tooling, and inspection regimes. Knowledge of metal processing and aerospace finishing operations. Proficient in engineering drawings, metrology, ERP/MRP and CAD. Skilled in data-driven improvements, automation, and workflow optimisation. Strong communicator across technical and non-technical teams.
