About the Role
To provide manufacturing engineer duties within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function to deliver the production plan whilst resolving any barriers to production fulfilment.
To improve overall product quality using technical expertise to both mature and new products throughout the factory.
Day to Day
Safety
To observe and comply to Health and Safety rules always and to raise any Health and Safety concerns with management immediately.
To ensure manufacturing processes can achieve the required production rate, cost and quality in a safe manner.
Quality
To raise/answer NCR's / DMR's as appropriate. Complete robust Root cause investigations and corrective actions.
To create and amend CAD SOP's and drafting on Rapid Author to Company standards and procedures.
To record, analyse, and use data to improve the current and future capability of assembly processes.
Cost
Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved assembly processes and technologies to meet current or future requirements.
To interface with, and provide guidance to, Engineering, Commercial and Operations departments.
Delivery
To ensure robust processes are in place for assembly and End of line testing that can achieve the required TAKT.
To provide manufacturing & engineering support via the MSO (Manufacturing Support Office) in support of Plant 2 (Assembly & End of LineTesting).
Contribute to the Xtrac NPI process. Lead/contribute to the creation and maintenance of PFMEA and develop improvements plans.
Capability acquisition, installation, and process/equipment layout.
To identify opportunities, support development and improve, the design of tooling and fixturing for both NPI and existing projects.

To support and develop a process adherence and improvement culture.
To follow Company quality Procedures, Standards and Work Instructions.
To keep up to date with latest engineering technology and production processes.

About You
Essentials
Education, Qualifications and Training
City and Guilds/ NVQ L3 in manufacturing/mechanical engineering
Knowledge
Manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
Good working knowledge of quality systems.
Good understanding of assembly processes.
Skills/Abilities
Very good IT skills including Word and Excel.
Confident communicator.
Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics.
Desirables
Education, Qualifications and Training
Degree/A level/HNC/HND in an engineering related discipline.
Knowledge
Awareness of measurement and assembly techniques.
Awareness of APQP process according to automotive customer requirements.
A good working knowledge of drafting standards, geometric tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
Practical use of FMEA and use of root cause analysis tools and techniques.
Skills/Abilities
Excellent IT skills including Word and Excel.
Must be organised and have a structured approach to problem solving.
Ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise accordingly.
