The Role and You!
This is an excellent opportunity to work with likeminded professionals based within our Investment Casting Facility at Wrexham. You will be key member of the engineering cell ensuring the department works efficiently to support production. You will be expected to reduce high scrap/salvage rate, improve workflow, reduce timings and costs within the department. The ideal candidate is to have experience in working in a manufacturing engineering role, with a strong focus and drive to improve. The employee will willingly undertake, upon request, any other task they are able to perform. Elements of the role may vary as new technology, procedures and equipment are introduced.
About You

Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise, secure and manage resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives
Schedule and head up engineering projects including new parts and cost/scrap reduction activity
Designing and testing new equipment, processes and procedures
Responding to stops in production and providing solutions to ensure the continuous flow of work
Researching and implementing opportunities to make processes more efficient
Assess dimensional performance of cast & machined products to ensure conformance and resolve any deviations noted
Assist to ensure that all projects remain on schedule and are delivered/completed On Time In Full (OTIF)
Form part of the daily operations team to integrate engineering projects within daily production plans and priorities
Report directly to internal stakeholders and customers on highly critical projects via regular conference calls, e-mails, face-to-face meetings, etc.
Assist to manage the transition period between sampling and productionization
Attend new part meetings with the respective Lead Engineer(s)
Support the Engineering Manager to continuously develop systems, processes and engineering methods used, to ensure we achieve the best standards possible
Essential Experience
Engineering Degree or time served Engineer with 5 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
Knowledge of Investment Casting methodologies and processes
Experience of Process Engineering within manufacturing engineering.
Experience in managing processes.
Desirable Experience
Aerospace & Defence experience.
Knowledge of CAD/SolidWorks & Simulation.
Understanding of basic lean principles.
Experience of operating in a supervisory or leadership position.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or time served Engineer with 5 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
HNC/HND qualified in mechanical engineering.
