How would you like to be part of a once-in-a-generation build of a world-class machining facility right here in the heart of Sheffield?
At Sheffield Forgemasters we are building more than just a machine shop, we're creating a state-of-the-art hub for precision engineering that will play a key part in the UK manufacturing and defence capability for the future.
Our new machining facility, supported by the 1.3bn investment from the MoD, will increase our current 64-acre footprint by another 16 acres and will house large-scale, modern machinery that utilises digital connectivity and automation to meet future standards.
This is your chance to be part of this exciting project from day one, as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The role is hands-on but with a strategic responsibility to shift from a reactive to proactive approach towards our manufacturing goals.
What you'll be doing

• You will manage a growing and developing team of Lead Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Apprentices, providing leadership & technical guidance, setting KPIs, and managing budgets, to deliver the end-to-end manufacturing process for complex steel components.
• You will collaborate with production, planning, maintenance, and quality teams to implement robust manufacturing strategies and resolve technical challenges.
• Driving continuous improvement is part of what you will do here at Sheffield Forgemasters, so you will be analysing data, utilising lean manufacturing techniques, and supporting with the implementation of new technologies and tools.

About You

These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 - 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
