Hours & Contract: 12-month contract (potential extension) | 37 hours per week | Full-time onsite | Early Friday finish Location: Wolverhampton Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager on behalf of our aerospace component manufacturing client at their Wolverhampton facility. In this senior leadership position, you will hold global responsibility for developing talent, shaping strategy, and advancing technical capabilities across all Manufacturing Engineering (ME) teams within actuation systems. Reporting to the ME Director, you will work closely with the Chief of ME to define and execute long-term strategic direction, driving technology adoption, capability uplift, and continuous process optimisation across a global ME footprint. Key Responsibilities Purpose & Strategy
Drive Manufacturing Engineering capability and development across the function aligned with organisational goals and customer satisfaction
Collaborate with industry partners, educational institutions and early career/talent acquisition teams to build a comprehensive skills development strategy
Provide leadership development and succession planning to sustain ME excellence
Lead the vision for the factory of the future, including Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies
Partner with the Chief of ME to develop a long-term technology roadmap to enhance performance and support business growth
People Leadership
Ensure the ME organisational structure supports current and future business needs
Maximise team capability and utilisation while anticipating future talent demands
Lead the global Actuation Systems ME Community of Practice, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration and alignment
Drive an inclusive, accountable, innovative culture across global ME teams
Process & Operational Excellence
Implement and maintain quality control measures to meet or exceed industry standards
Improve and standardise ME best practice, processes, and policies across global sites
Deliver ME-led IPT (Integrated Product Team) accountabilities, lead industrialisation initiatives, and support resolution of operational escalations
Lead deployment of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL), APQP and PPAP within Manufacturing Engineering
Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines
Drive continuous improvement through Lean, data-driven methodologies, and technology adoption
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline (Aerospace or Automotive preferred)
Strong leadership background at senior level with proven ability to drive business change
Proven success in setting and delivering business strategy
Confident, decisive leader with a sense of urgency
Desirable Skills & Experience
Chartered status or working towards chartership
Strong understanding of the engineering product life cycle
Experience applying Manufacturing Engineering best practice in a large, complex engineering environment
Skilled in developing processes in complex environments and cascading Engineering Delegation of Authority
Ability to influence at international level and manage technology/process change
