We are searching for a

highly motivated Lab Manufacturing Technician

ready to drive a

biotechnology breakthrough

. You'll be an

integral part

of our manufacturing team, directly fueling the daily production of our pioneering lab-grown tissue. Your expertise in

sterility techniques, mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and media preparation/filtration

Key Activities & Main Responsibilities

:

Drive Production Excellence:

Execute routine

mammalian cell culture

and

cell-based assays

, including analysis, directly supporting the manufacturing of our lab-grown tissues.

Media Management:

Expertly prepare and filter

large-volume batches of cell culture media

and essential additives, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Cell Line Stewardship:

Manage

cell stock maintenance

and skillfully

expand critical cell lines

to support production scale-up.

Process Adherence:

Meticulously

prepare and execute work

according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing protocols.

Quality Assurance:

Actively support the implementation and rigorous

compliance with GLP and ISO 9001:2015

quality management systems.

Record Integrity:

Prepare, review, and maintain

meticulous documentation

for all processes, including lab records, batch reports, and weekly reports, ensuring full

traceability

under ISO 9001:2015.

Quality Monitoring:

Conduct routine checks, perform

environmental monitoring

, and maintain accurate Quality Management System (QMS) records.

Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to internal and external

audits and inspections

, and actively participate in the

continuous improvement

of laboratory processes and quality systems. Maintain laboratory

cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and safe working conditions

in line with all health, safety, and quality standards.

Proactively manage the inventory

of consumables, reagents, and equipment to prevent supply chain disruptions.

Protocol Development:

Actively

support the development and optimization

of new or existing standard protocols and procedures.

Waste Management:

Ensure proper disposal of all laboratory waste in strict accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration:

Participate actively in lab and project meetings, contributing to technical

discussions and strategic planning

.

Required Qualifications:



Scientific graduate with a MSc in Biological Sciences or equivalent subject(s). or 3 years of experience with mammalian cell culture and with common cell-based assays (e.g.for quantification of cell proliferation, viability, etc).

Required Skills and Attributes



This job requires a direct, hands-on background in a cellular or biological laboratory environment, specifically including:

Knowledge and skills in use and

maintenance of general cell biology lab

equipment (3 years experience).

Sterility Techniques:

3 years of practical experience working aseptically, likely in a laminar flow hood, to prevent contamination during all manufacturing steps.

Mammalian Cell Culture:

Proven experience of 3 years in the successful culturing, maintenance, and handling of mammalian cell lines (skin cells/tissue engineering experience is highly desirable).

Cell-Based Assays & Analysis:

The ability to execute and analyse results from cell-based assays relevant to tissue quality and production.

Media Preparation & Filtration:

Expertise in accurately preparing, filtering, and sterilising large volumes of cell culture media and supplements (one year experience).

SOP Adherence:

A track record of diligently preparing and working according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing protocols. Independent, well organised and proactive work style.

Core Attributes Required



Given the start-up environment and focus on high-quality, traceable materials, the successful candidate will also need:

Must be highly motivated and ready to be an "integral part" of a dynamic, pioneering start-up team. Demonstrated meticulousness in laboratory work, documentation (e.g., lab records, batch reports), and quality monitoring. Practical experience or strong understanding of quality systems, specifically supporting compliance with

GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)

and

ISO 9001:2015

. Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining detailed documentation (e.g., laboratory forms, batch reports) for full traceability. The ability to effectively manage daily laboratory operations, including maintaining equipment, controlling inventory, and managing waste safely. Open-minded and communicative player in a small team environment. Good problem-solving abilities, capacity to take ownership of tasks. Able to multi-task and work under time pressure on multiple projects. Fluent in written and oral English.

Desirable Skills :



Knowledge in Biomaterials Science and Biostatistics Experience with basic biochemical and molecular biology, including Western blotting, DNA/RNA isolation, and PCR/qPCR Good communication skills and basic IT competency (e.g., Excel, ordering systems, email). Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team. Knowledge of GLP, COSHH regulations, and relevant health & safety procedures. Experience supporting audits or maintaining records for quality systems. Proactive, hands-on approach with willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
