Manufacturing Operative/Technician - Full-Time, Permanent.

GuS Periscopes Ltd is a UK subsidiary of a market leader that has served global defence markets for more than 40 years. Our products protect and save human lives. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Operative/Technician to be located in our Cwmbran, South Wales facility.

What we offer:

A position with responsibility to ensure the on-time delivery and the quality of standard and bespoke periscope products to fulfil customer orders. You will be responsible for the manufacture of optical parts including machining, cutting and polishing operations, assembly and test. Your challenge will be to maintain and continuously improve the manufacturing processes and be part of a motivated team ensuring the consistent high quality that our customers demand.

You need to have a keen eye for detail ensuring all manufacturing processes are performed according to a set of strict defined procedures and processes You will be part of the backbone of the business and must be willing to learn and grow with the business often working outside of your comfort zone.

What we are seeking:

Minimum 2 years hands on experience of precision mechanical manufacturing processes, ideally performing machining operations e.g. cutting, machining, polishing, painting, adhesive bonding, final assembly and test. Ideally you will have worked with in an optical assembly company but this is not essential as full training will be provided. A formal engineering qualifications would be advantageous e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds etc. Ability to interpret and manufacture parts/assemblies to detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation. Knowledge and ability of working in accordance with an ISO9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS). Personal Attributes-
