As a manufacturing operative at Solinear Ltd, you will be joining a growing team at an award-winning UK specialist in architectural solar shading, facade systems, and bespoke metalwork. Solinear is respected in the construction and architectural industries for delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions that enhance the look and performance of buildings across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, and transport.

You'll be based in a busy workshop in Sheriff Hutton (YO60 6PG) where a varied workload keeps every day fresh. Solinear combines precision engineering, innovation, and practical craftsmanship to manufacture bespoke aluminium and steel products used in notable projects nationwide. You'll be part of the team that helps transform architect designs into real, durable components that contribute to energy-efficient buildings and striking architectural facades.

This is a hands-on role where you will learn and grow within a supportive team culture that values safety, quality, and collaboration. Key responsibilities

Fabricating and assembling bespoke architectural products in a workshop environment. Using workshop machinery and equipment to cut, machine, and assemble components. Working from drawings and instructions provided by the production manager. Reporting progress and any issues to the production manager. Loading, unloading, and moving materials using a forklift truck (training provided if required). Maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Requirements

Previous manufacturing or workshop experience. A good work ethic and a dependable attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to read technical drawings is an advantage but not essential. Full driving licence and ability to travel to and from the workplace Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

What we offer

Day rate of 140.00 to 160.00 for the right candidate with experience. Day rate of 120.00 to 140.00 for a labourer. Long term work with consistent projects. Training provided where needed, including forklift operation. A supportive workshop environment with a strong team culture. Overtimes rates when overtime is required. Workshop tools and PPE.
