The Role
As a Manufacturing Operative at Clayton Glass, you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality glass products. Your responsibilities will include supporting our production processes, ensuring top-notch quality, and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating Machinery: You will be responsible for operating various machines involved in cutting, shaping, and processing glass. This includes following operational instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.
Handling and Processing Glass: Safely loading and unloading glass onto production lines or machines, ensuring that glass sheets or components are handled with care to avoid damage.
Quality Control: Conducting quality checks on finished glass products to identify any defects, such as cracks or chips, and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
Assembly and Packaging: Assisting with the assembly of glass units, such as double glazing, and packaging products for safe transportation or further production stages.
Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also conduct basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or malfunctions.
Material Handling: Moving raw materials to the production area and organizing inventory as needed to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
General Production Support: Working closely with your team to meet production targets, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting various tasks as needed to ensure an efficient workflow.
Essential Criteria:
2-3 years experience in a warehouse, factory, production or manufacturing environment.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills and consideration for others.
Able to follow instructions accurately and perform tasks diligently.
Punctual, with a strong attendance record, and fully committed to your shift hours.
Manual dexterity. Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and standing.
Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria:
Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work night shifts if required.
Driving Licence
Experience working with Health & Safety and Quality systems
Experience in the glass industry
Proficiency in glass industry-specific tools and equipment, such as cutting tables, furnaces, and IGU [Insulated Glass Unit] lines
