Role Summary:
The Shift Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operation including the management of staff, production output and quality targets whilst ensuring the smooth running of all production processes.
You will lead and motivate a cross-functional team fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
You will ensure efficiency, quality and safety whilst managing a team to achieve production goals. You will troubleshoot and solve issues that arise on the production floor whilst ensuring a safe and clean production environment.
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 5am - 3pm
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the production lines ensuring the smooth running of machinery with products that meet quality standards.
Promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Foster a culture of inclusion, honesty and integrity with employees, encouraging them to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Collaborate with other managers to align production processes with operation goals.
Identify production issues and think of solutions to maximise productivity whilst minimising downtime.
Act as the lead point of communication between the production floor and senior management providing regular updates on production performance and issues as required.
Ensure that production processes are in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Accurately complete all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.
Responsibility for the quality of product produced in line with the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures.
Manage, develop, and motivate direct reporting staff.
Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance.
Manage the inductions with agency starters and creating a working experience in line with core values.
Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practice standards and targets are met.
Ensure that staff are managed and rotated inline with achieving the production plan and production targets.
Accountable for opening & closing of factory/site in line with your contracted shifts.
Accountable for ensuring the fire register and signing in board is correct for each shift.
Communicate expectations to operational staff and evaluate their performance providing feedback constructively whilst taking the necessary steps to address underperformance in line with company policy.
To complete any required training courses and take advantage of opportunities to further develop your skills and experience.
Responsible for coordinating the training of all staff up to company standard in coordination with Technical and HR departments.
Be able to support the business with any projects if required.
Be able to lead a team on overtime if required (rotation with assistant).
Ensure that the production plan is carried out in the most efficient way possible to avoid unnecessary labour costs while meeting agreed deadlines.
Key lead for X3 for the production floor.
Qualifications / Experience:
Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is desirable but not essential.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting is essential for this role.
Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles, as well as a working knowledge of ERP systems is advantageous

Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point.
