Job Description

As a Band 5 Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate and effective care to a diverse patient group. You will be involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans, and work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.

Key responsibilities include:



Providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients admitted to the IPU. Monitoring, assessing, and documenting patient conditions and progress. Administering medication and treatments safely and accurately, in accordance with NMC guidelines and local policies. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care plans. Promoting dignity, respect, and compassion in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues. Supporting patient and family education, advocacy, and involvement in care decisions. Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control. Taking appropriate action in emergencies, following protocols and seeking senior support as required. Engaging in regular supervision, training, and reflective practice to support your professional development.

What we're looking for:



Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Level 1). Recent experience in an acute care, community or specialist inpatient setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently. Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice. Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare.

Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 5 (aligned with AFC) 33,247 - 41,424 TOP LEVEL pro rata per annum + enhancements

Contract:

x2 positions 12 Month Fixed Term Contracts 35.4 and 30 Hours per week

Based:

Marie Curie Hospice, Frogston Road West, Edinburgh, EH10 7DR, All though this is for Edinburgh hospice from time to time you may be required to cross cover services in the community.
