Job Summary:



We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee and manage contractual agreements across our marine construction projects, including rock armour, decommissioning, salvage, heavy lift, and subsea cable operations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of marine-based contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, BIMCO, LOGIC, IMCA, and custom project-specific agreements. This role is crucial in reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating contract terms to safeguard our business interests while fostering strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:



Contract Management & Negotiation

Lead the review, negotiation, and administration of all our contracts associated with our business. Provide expert advice on contractual risks, obligations, and entitlements. Develop, implement, and maintain effective contract management processes. Work alongside our Business Development team with the submission of tenders and Project Proposals. Work in collaboration with the Projects Team to ensure the established stage gate process is followed and upheld. Be responsible for managing contract variations, issuing early warning notices, and identifying opportunities arising from proactive contract administration.

Contractual Risk & Compliance

Identify and mitigate contractual risks in tenders and live projects. Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, industry regulations, and company policies. Work closely with legal teams and external counsel where necessary.

Dispute Resolution & Claims Management

Handle claims, variations, and disputes effectively, ensuring timely resolution. Support commercial teams in preparing and defending claims where necessary. Act as a key point of contact for contractual disputes and resolution strategies.

Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, project managers, and legal teams to ensure smooth contract execution. Negotiate Service level agreements to ensure KML receives favourable terms and conditions. Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contract interpretation and best practices. Ensure robust communication between commercial, operational, and legal teams to align contractual objectives.

Required Experience & Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in law

,

Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field. Extensive experience in marine construction contracts and a deep understanding of FIDIC, NEC, BIMCO, LOGIC, IMCA and bespoke contracts. Proven track record in contract negotiation, interpretation, and dispute resolution. Strong knowledge of marine construction industry standards, regulations, and procurement frameworks. Experience working on Rock Armour Delivery, Heavy Lift, Salvage Operations, and Subsea Cable Projects is highly desirable. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance risk and opportunity.
