This post will be based at the University of Lincoln's Maritime Studies Centre at Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in Dartmouth, Devon.

The University of Lincoln is the Higher Education partner in the Team Fisher consortium which is tasked with delivering and modernising Royal Navy training and education through Project Selborne. A key part of the University's role is to deliver education in core academic disciplines, arts and science, to Royal Navy officers undergoing training at BRNC. These subjects are delivered within the professional pathway for officers and, in many cases, lead to the award of Level 5 and Level 6 degree qualifications.

As the Operations Manager, you will be based at BRNC as part of the Maritime Studies Centre staff in a professional services position. The role is responsible for planning, managing and coordinating the educational and wider outputs of the Centre, liaising with Team Fisher staff and other stakeholders to achieve this aim. It requires the ability to balance requirements with staff capacity and financial resource, and to engage effectively within the Centre and with Team Fisher planning staff. It will also oversee the Centre's performance against its objectives, coordinate with research and programme leads to organise Centre events and play a central role in the Centre's approach on data and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). The role reports to the Director of Academic Studies as well as being a part of the Selborne Project team which oversees the delivery of all Selborne contractual elements, associated resourcing and planning.

We are seeking to appoint an Operations Manager who has excellent planning, organisational and people skills and who is able to engage and collaborate effectively to achieve solutions. The post is ideal for those looking to develop their professional experience in a supportive professional environment. With Team Fisher entering a period of modernisation, a long term and open-minded approach is vital as is the willingness to work across departments and partner institutions. You will have leadership and management experience in a high-pressure environment and be able to work within a team where initiative and active problem-solving is critical to success.

Please be aware that an offer for this position is conditional on the ability to obtain a BPSS background check, followed by a successful application for a UK national security clearance. Further information on the checks and process involved in both are available at Government baseline personnel security standard - GOV.UK and UK Security Vetting: Applicant - GOV.UK respectively. Please note that you will typically need at least the last 5 years continuous residence in the United Kingdom.

Please note that first round interviews will take place on Monday 4th August 2025 via MS Teams. Should a second round of interviews be deemed necessary, these will take place on Monday 11th August 2025, in person at BRNC Dartmouth.
