Salary: 33,280 pro rata

Who are we?



Bristol Tree Craft is a small, dynamic C.I.C. using traditional craft skills to tackle social isolation and unequal access to nature. We run multiple weekly free-to-access sessions in local green spaces, making unique items with heritage tools & techniques. Inclusivity and empowerment are at our core: we work closely with other community organisations to enable people's connection to nature and foster their agency through learning crafts. We work primarily with NEET youth, refugees/asylum-seekers, and people accessing mental health support and/or addiction recovery services.

What are we looking for?



We're looking for an enthusiastic, committed person with a comprehensive range of communication and marketing abilities. This is a broad and impactful role for an experienced communications and marketing professional who can help amplify BTC's mission, linking climate action, mental health, and community wellbeing through dynamic, targeted communications.

A strong candidate for this role would bring both strategic vision and a hands-on mindset to overseeing most aspects of external communications, including content, digital channels, media/PR and brand development. With a talent for storytelling and an eye for detail, they'd help translate our impact into accessible, compelling content that builds reach, strengthens partnerships, and drives engagement. Working closely with BTC Directors, staff members, and partners, they'd ensure our messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with our values.

Responsibilities will include:



Strategy & Planning



Develop and implement BTC's marketing andadvocacystrategy, aligned with organisational goals. Plan and review campaigns, evaluating outcomes and adjusting approaches based on evidence. Support Directors with quarterly and annual reviews of marketing performance.

Content & Storytelling



Lead on content creation across social media, newsletters, website, and press. Using storytelling to present information in a clear and engaging way. Produce case studies, impact stories, and reports to share programme outcomes.

Digital Marketing



Manage BTC's social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn; TikTok desirable). Lead on website updates, blog posts, and SEO basics. Deliver email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp) to engage supporters. Track and evaluate analytics to guide improvements.

Brand & Campaigns



Help build BTC's brand identity, ensuring consistency of message and tone across platforms. Design flyers, posters, and promotional materials. Deliver integrated campaigns to promote events, workshops, volunteering and seasonal programmes.

Advocacy & Outreach



Write and distribute press releases to highlight BTC's work. Build and maintain media, influencer, and partner contact lists. Represent BTC in meetings, community forums, and networking events. Support partnership development with local councils, funders, corporates and community groups.

Collaboration



Work closely with BTC staff, volunteers & beneficiaries to create content and capture stories. Support fundraising with communications that strengthen bids, reports or campaigns.

Person Specification



Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience in marketing, communications (charity/CIC sector desirable). Strong copywriting and storytelling skills for multiple audiences. Digital marketing expertise including social media, website, email campaigns and analytics. A collaborative and approachable working style, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external teams. Expertise in inclusive, accessible, and ethical communications practices, ensuring content is respectful, representative, and effectively engages diverse audiences. Relationship-building skills with partners, press, local councils, funders and corporates. Strategic thinking combined with a practical, hands on delivery-focused approach. Ability to effectively manage projects independently and as part of a team, prioritise workload, solve problems and achieve deadlines. Genuine passion for BTC's mission.
Desirable Skills

Photography, video, or design (beyond Canva). Grant writing or impact reporting. Experience working in CICs, charities, or grassroots organisations. Public speaking or media representation experience.
