Our children's services volunteers help the charity to deliver essential services in local communities, providing support to over 300,000 children, young people and their families. This role provides a great opportunity to join our fantastic children's services and help make a real difference. Barnardo's Marketing & Events Volunteers support a range of children's services, such as Care Leavers, Advocacy and Mental Health support services, to assist with the promotion, recruitment and marketing of Barnardo's children's services. They will also support staff teams to organise and deliver events for service users, volunteers and local community members. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the promotion & support of events and workshops that take place across settings in Yardley, Birmingham. The ability to speak a community language such as Hindi, punjabi, urdu, bangla would be an advantage, but not essential. We are looking for people who really believe in Barnardo's work and would like to help us to spread the word, as a well organised person, you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to talk to people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Are you good at organising events? Or gathering feedback after events? Or perhaps you're great at putting displays together. The marketing and events role is varied and could be for you.
Tasks: Assisting with organising training/events/workshops. This might include sending out invitations, monitoring replies, making arrangements for the event and attending events on the day.
Assisting with promotion of specific training/events/workshops and recruiting participants.
Helping with setting up training/events/workshops and clearing away at the end.
Reviewing and evaluating feedback from training/events/workshops.
Updating notice boards and creating wall displays, for special events and festivals.
Adhering to Barnardo's policies and procedures at all times, including Barnardo's: Safeguarding; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Health & Safety; Data Protection; Confidentiality; Recording policies and procedures.
Participating fully in training and supervision.
