Job Description

As a Marketing & Publicity Assistant, You'll work across printed publicity, service change communications, social media, and design support, contributing to campaigns for well-known brands including Oxford Bus Company, Thames Travel, City Sightseeing Oxford, Carousel Buses, Pulhams, and Pearces Coaches.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating clear, accurate, and engaging customer information--and wants to build hands-on experience in marketing, publicity, and social media within a fast-paced, operational environment.

What You'll Do:



Support delivery of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social channels, including planning, execution, reporting, analytics, and market research Create, schedule, and monitor social media content, including service change and disruption updates Maintain accurate, on-brand customer information across websites and printed materials, with a strong focus on proofreading Assist with the production of promotional, timetable, and service change publicity, including roadside updates and bus stop materials Coordinate design and vinyl orders for bus stops, timetables, and vehicle liveries, supporting basic design tasks where required Liaise with internal teams (including Data, Fares & Ticketing, and Commercial) to confirm service and fare changes and ensure consistency Manage print stock levels, distribution, and supplier relationships Provide administrative support, attend events when required, and deliver all work to a high standard within agreed deadlines

What We're Looking For:



Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading skills with a commitment to accuracy in customer-facing materials. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines. Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication; able to liaise confidently with internal teams and external suppliers. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms. Adaptability: Flexible approach to work, including occasional travel and willingness to support events outside standard hours. Teamwork: Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively within a small, dynamic team. Marketing Knowledge: Previous experience in marketing, publicity, or communications roles. Design Skills: Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign) for creating simple publicity materials. Print & Stock Management: Experience managing print orders and supplier relationships. Analytical Skills: Ability to use basic analytics tools to monitor social media performance and campaign effectiveness.
