The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to specialise in promoting our Conferences & Events (C&E) facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and organised individual to contribute to the success of a dynamic heritage organisation and play a key role in showcasing our unique venues.
The Marketing Assistant (C&E) will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in developing and implementing marketing strategies specifically for weddings, conferences, venue hire, and wardroom dinners at Discovery Point and Verdant Works. You will be a key point of contact for C&E marketing activities, contributing to content creation, event participation, and promotional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Weddings:
Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns targeting the wedding market.
Create compelling content for various platforms showcasing our wedding venues and services.
Support the organisation and promotion of wedding fayres and open days.
Assist with the creation and distribution of wedding brochures and promotional materials.
Marketing Conferences / Venue Hire:
Support the marketing of our venues for conferences, meetings, and other corporate events.
Develop and update content for the C&E section of the website highlighting our facilities and capabilities.
Research and identify potential conference and venue hire clients.
Assist in the creation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
Marketing Wardroom Dinners:
Promote our unique wardroom dinner experiences to relevant audiences.
Create engaging content to showcase the atmosphere and offerings of wardroom dinners.
Assist with the organisation and promotion of familiarisation trips for potential clients.
Developing Content for C&E Website Section:
Regularly update and enhance the content on the C&E section of the Dundee Heritage Trust website.
Write engaging copy, source high-quality images and videos, and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Optimise website content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility.
Attending Events to Showcase DP & VW as Venue Hire:
Represent Dundee Heritage Trust at relevant industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows.
Network with potential clients and promote our C&E facilities.
Gather market intelligence and competitor information.
Working with C&E Management Team to Organise Wedding Fayres, Promotional Materials for Weddings / Conferences:
Collaborate closely with the C&E team to plan and execute successful wedding fayres and promotional events.
Assist in the design and production of promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital assets.
Coordinate logistics and suppliers for events as required.
Organising Fam Trips for Wardroom Dinners / Venue Hire:
Plan and coordinate familiarisation trips for potential clients interested in our wardroom dinners and venue hire.
Arrange itineraries, manage logistics, and ensure a positive experience for attendees.
Working with Marketing Manager to Sell C&E Facilities to Travel Trade:
Support the Marketing Manager in developing strategies to target and engage the travel trade sector.
Assist in creating marketing materials and presentations for travel agents and tour operators.
Research and identify opportunities to promote our venues within the travel industry.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a marketing role, ideally within the events, hospitality, or tourism sector.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong eye for detail.
Experience in creating engaging content for websites, social media, and marketing materials.
Familiarity with digital marketing principles and social media platforms.
Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) is desirable.
Desirable:
Experience working with or knowledge of the wedding, conference, or events industry.
Understanding of the travel trade sector.
Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
