Purpose of the Role
As Marketing Assistant for
Sleep Action
, you will play an important supporting role in increasing Sleep Action's impact across the UK and Ireland by expanding the reach of our services and increasing income from our commercial activities. Reporting to the Marketing & Brand Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality content and digital communications to promote our services - including our Sleep Training for Professionals, Sleep Healthy Workplace Webinars, and Scottish Sleep Support Line.
This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their marketing experience in a supportive environment, with guidance and mentoring as you develop your skills.
Principal Responsibilities
Create and schedule engaging content
for web, email, and social media that tells compelling stories and reflects our brand's tone of voice, while being thoughtfully tailored to connect with Sleep Action's audiences, which include health and social care professionals, parents/carers, and employers
Support graphic design needs
, such as social media graphics, videos, infographics, and promotional materials, ensuring that all visual content adheres to our brand guidelines (experience with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar is beneficial)
Keep our website up-to-date
by adding new pages and content, refreshing existing pages and visuals, ensuring accuracy and clarity (experience using WordPress would be beneficial)
Engage with followers on social media
, supporting campaigns and growing community engagement
Adapt complex information for different audiences
from white papers, research reports, and case studies to create engaging, impactful content
Assist with conference preparation
, including event communications, branded materials, and resource packs
Support HR communications
, such as internal updates or recruitment campaigns relevant to Sleep Action
Support the wider Marketing team
with specific projects as and when required

Key skills
Interested in improving sleep and wellbeing on a national level
A strong communicator who enjoys creating compelling content in various formats
Keen to learn and develop in a marketing role, with guidance and support
Organised and able to manage your time well in a remote working environment
Basic design and digital content skills
Familiar with using social media platforms for professional or campaign purposes
Comfortable using platforms like WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, Buffer, or similar
Communication
Be open, accountable and approachable to encourage a learning culture within the organisation.
Develop relationships and networks to promote the work of Capella.
Build partnerships with other organisations that furthers the development of our organisation
