Overall Purpose Of The Job
We are looking for a music loving, dynamic, self-motivated
Marketing Assistant
to join our small but ambitious Live Music team. Sitting within the broader company ecosystem, this role is ideal for someone who is passionate about live music, thrives in fast-paced creative environments, and wants to be actively involved in promoting grassroot shows.
As Marketing Assistant, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to plan and deliver marketing campaigns across both digital and non-digital channels. You'll be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, helping to amplify our events to the right audiences and maintain a strong online presence across all platforms.
Show Promotion
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to build timely and effective show announcements and on-sale strategies
Ensure shows are accurately listed across in-house websites and partner platforms.
Design show posters and digital assets using professional design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Print, and coordinate the distribution of show posters and flyers
Attend shows to capture live content and post in real-time on social channels
Interview artists, promoters and industry professionals to create engaging content
Work with ticketing teams to track sales, update marketing plans, and report on performance.Co-ordinate monthly venue listings to promote across socials, third party and print
Manage photography and influencer rotas for high-profile or priority shows
Social Media & Digital Engagement
Manage the day-to-day running of our social media content calendar across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.)
Plan, build, and optimise paid social media campaigns in line with overall show marketing strategies
Monitor and analyse social performance, audience engagement, and ROI across paid and organic content
Conduct digital landscaping to ensure shows are listed on relevant third-party pages, gig groups, and event sites
Marketing Strategy & Content Creation
Support the Marketing Manager in the development of detailed show marketing plans
Create compelling content including promotional artwork, video/reels, social content, and live visuals from events
Write and distribute press releases tailored to local audiences, ensuring messaging is consistent with show objectives
Proofread and edit all public-facing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand consistency
Your Profile
You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and creative. Driven by a passion for music and love working collaboratively with a wide range of people including promoters, artists, and creative professionals. You're proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, especially in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
Experience & Skills
Essential
At least 2 years' experience in a comparable marketing or promotions role
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva
Confident working in WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
Strong grasp of digital marketing tools and tactics, including paid social, PR, SEO, and email marketing
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Comfortable with market research, web analytics, and reporting tools
Highly organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects at once
Team player with a strong collaborative mindset
Desired
Previous experience in the music or entertainment industry
Experience using Trello or other project management tools
Knowledge of gig photography, influencer outreach, or content capturing tools
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential if you have relevant experience
Additional Information
Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support shows and live content needs
