Responsible for developing and delivering an effective marketing and communication strategy to raise the profile of Homeless Connect member and operational services.
Grow Homeless Connect membership by raising awareness of our membership services and benefits with organisations working in homelessness and related sectors.
Promote Homeless Connect FareShare and Home Starter Pack service to businesses and charities to increase Community Food Members and generate additional sales of goods and services.
Ensure positive donor and corporate relationships, oversee events and brand management.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1.0 Marketing
1.1 Develop and deliver a plan to retain and grow Homeless Connect membership numbers with organisations working in homelessness and related services.
1.2 Support income generation by identifying and recruiting new Community Food Members for FareShare in schools, community groups and charities working to alleviate homelessness and poverty in local communities.
1.3 Develop and grow the market for the purchase and delivery of Home Starter Packs for new tenants moving from a homelessness into a new tenancy.
2.0 Events
2.1 Oversee the planning and delivery of organisational events, such as conferences and report launches etc, working closely with teams across the organisation.
2.2 Co-ordinate donor and corporate fundraising events working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
2.3 Support with the co-ordination and promotion of Homelessness Awareness Week, working closely with colleagues in policy and programmes.
2.4 Liaise and co-ordinate work with external PR agencies as required.
2.5 Liaise with corporate sponsors as required, working with senior management.
3.0 Media Communications
3.1 Prepare and distribute press releases/statements and deal with enquiries from the media.
3.2 Prepare and produce written content for briefings, reports, blogs/articles, social media posts, and undertake any other means of communicating and disseminating promotional information.
3.3 Prepare publicity material and undertake awareness raising activities to promote our operations services.
3.4 Coordinate website management including uploading of content, proof-reading, and ensuring it is kept up to date.
3.5 Working with the Executive Team, lead and support crisis communications processes including advice on mitigating and managing risk.
3.6 Provide cover for other communications staff during leave periods of absence.
4.0 Branding, Print and Design
4.1 Working across teams ensuring brand guidelines are followed across the organisation
4.2 Working with Business Solutions and other teams, oversee all design requirements and liaise with external suppliers such as printers, website agencies and graphic designers.
4.3 Undertake internal design tasks using Canva or similar design software.
5.0 General requirements

Person Specification
Essential criteria
1. At least 1 years' experience in a policy, communications or public affairs role.
2. Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of developing positive relationships with donors and other organisations.
3. Brilliant oral and written communication skills and ability to adapt to different target audiences.
4. Ability to present complex information in an accessible way.
5. Proven ability to prioritise under pressure and successfully handle multiple projects to deadlines and targets.
6. Experience of managing social media accounts for business use and creation of compelling social media content.
7. Proven experience of software packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel
Desirable
1. An honours degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline e.g. marketing, PR, communications.
2. Experience in working for a membership organisation.
3. Understanding of poverty and homelessness issues.
4. Experience in using a Content Management System
5. Experience of using Canva or similar design software.
