About the Role

As our new Marketing Database Analyst, you will be responsible for providing party data and segmentation system expertise that enables the Academic Marketing organisation to effectively target customers and prospects for campaigns. You will enable an effective analytics function by creating user friendly and effective reports, supporting work via the customer data and analytics value streams, and delivering customer/prospect focussed analysis and insights, while contributing to the development of a data-driven culture.

Duties will also include:

  • Customer Segmentation Tools \xe2\x80\x93 serve as business owner and subject matter expert for customer/audience segmentation tools, including Infor Omni-Channel Campaign Management (OCM) and MasterVision (MV) systems
  • Party Data \xe2\x80\x93 develop and leverage knowledge of customer/prospect data, marketing databases, and data privacy regulations while contributing to data integration and other data work
  • Analytics \xe2\x80\x93 conduct regular and ad hoc analysis to deliver actionable insights related to party data as well as segmentation tools and approaches
  • Reporting \xe2\x80\x93 create and maintain reports and dashboards on a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Communication \xe2\x80\x93 clearly and effectively communicate/present reporting, analysis, insights, best practices, and guidance to stakeholders
  • Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 effectively manage assigned projects, including reports/dashboards and projects in the customer data and analytics value streams
This is a fully remote vacancy.

About You

Essential:
  • High data literacy and experience working with data & analytics, preferably in a marketing role
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with BI tools such as Alteryx
  • Experience cleansing, preparing, and analysing data
  • Experience working with CRM systems and customer/prospect databases
  • Experience with data visualization tools (ideally Tableau) and the ability to story-tell in a clear, impactful, and narrative manner
  • Experience in developing and maintaining complex data structures
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excel knowledge
  • Ability to translate data into clear and concise actionable recommendations whilst bringing stakeholders along the data journey
  • Ability to understand complex problems and find creative solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to communicate effectively with people of differing levels of data literacy and analytical understanding
  • Proven ability to deliver root cause analysis and troubleshoot data and data related processes
  • Resilience, persistence, and willingness to drive issues to a successful conclusion
  • Adaptability and ability to deliver on key accountabilities despite change
  • Strong project management skills
Desirable:
  • Experience working with customer segmentation tools and systems
  • Familiarity with customer data governance and GDPR regulations
  • Good understanding of marketing goals, customer behaviour, and journeys
  • Experience with email marketing software like Adestra and marketing resource planning tools like Percolate
