The Wessex Museums Marketing & Digital Lead is responsible for planning and delivery of the marketing, communications and digital strategy for Wessex Museums. This includes leading on all aspects of marketing and communications for Wessex Museums Trust, promoting the work of the partnership and the partner museums with a focus on sector audiences.

The post holder will also develop and manage the Wessex Museums digital strategy, including maintaining the Wessex Museums website and being responsible for the growth of the partnership's digital profile through social media and digital content through online programming, for example digital exhibitions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



1. To lead on the delivery of key digital content projects already underway in the partnership's NPO programme, specifically digital exhibitions, digital learning platform, and virtual collections.

2. To be the custodian of Wessex Museums' brand identity and communications strategy, ensuring and being accountable for consistent messaging across the partnership, including with partner museums, and marketing representation at external events and activities.

3. To maintain and enhance the Wessex Museums website, including developing and making decisions on a content strategy, managing web developers, providing advice to colleagues and co-ordinating the provision of content from across the partnership.

4. To oversee and manage Wessex Museums' digital output, particularly on social media platforms, through our website, and a range of digital assets and products, providing expert advice and decision making on enhancing the digital experience and increasing digital audiences across the partnership.

5. To manage PR on behalf of Wessex Museums, managing complex communications across the partnership and externally, including building relationships with marketing colleagues across the partnership and museum sector journalists, as well as managing and monitoring press coverage partnership-wide and acting as a spokesperson as required.

6. Responsibility for the Wessex Museums' internal and external publications, including regular enewsletters.

7. To define engagement metrics and targets, and co-ordinate the collection of data across the partnership for marketing and digital content, ensuring that data collection is in line with the data protection policy and GDPR. To produce evaluation and analytics reports across the partnership in line with current best practice methodologies (e.g. Google Analytics 4). Provide expert advice to colleagues on how data can be used to inform planning and for reporting against audience development and digital targets to the Arts Council England and other external stakeholders.

8. To lead the partnership's Marketing & Digital Working Group, convening marketing and digital staff from each of the partner museums to work together to develop and implement a cross promotional content plan that can become self-sustaining, as well as to support other partnership objectives as part of the National Portfolio Organisation programme of activity.

9. To support partners with professional advice and mentoring on marketing, communications and digital engagement, including auditing skills, signposting to training and resources, and coordinating/delivering CPD opportunities for staff across the partnership.

10. To be an active member of the Wessex Museums team, contributing to strategic planning and project management where it relates to the purpose and responsibilities of the role. To be a supportive and collaborative team member, including attending weekly team meetings (online) and monthly/bi-monthly in person team meetings in locations across Dorset & Wiltshire.

11. To manage budgets up to 10k linked to the marketing and digital strategy objectives with the Wessex Museums strategic plan.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 31,000.00-33,000.00 per year
