Marketing & Digital Manager - Shape the Future of an expanding Family Business

The primary focus of this role is to lead the marketing digital growth strategy for Stephensons, taking full ownership of the online customer journey. You will oversee the website product offering, drive website sales through performance marketing (SEO, PPC, Email, Social). While digitally focused, you will also lead and develop the marketing team to ensure the high-quality delivery of traditional marketing assets, such as our industry-leading product catalogues.
Stephenson's is an independent family business supplying the catering trade with non-food equipment since 1868.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position are split between digital strategy (70%) and traditional marketing (30%):
Digital Sales & Ecommerce (70%)
Performance Marketing:
Plan and execute paid campaigns (PPC/Google Ads) and paid social strategies (Meta/LinkedIn) to drive new customer acquisition.
Retention & Automation:
Advance email marketing from "broadcast" messages to automated flows (Welcome series, Abandoned Cart, Re-engagement) to drive repeat business.
Website & SEO:
Oversee the online catalogue, ensuring accurate data, high-quality imagery, and SEO-optimised descriptions to improve organic visibility.
Conversion Optimisation:
Monitor GA4 analytics to identify user drop-off points and implement strategies to improve conversion rates and Average Order Value (AOV).
System Integration:
Act as the Marketing lead for ERP-to-Website integration, troubleshooting with technical partners to ensure stock and pricing data sync correctly.
Data-Driven Reporting:
Provide weekly reports on digital ROI and campaign performance to justify spend and strategy.
Team Management & Traditional Marketing (30%)
Team Development:
Lead, manage and mentor the Marketing team.
Catalogue Oversight:
Oversee the production of the printed product catalogue, working with the Category Manager to ensure delivery for key milestones.
Brand & Showroom:
Drive brand consistency across all channels, including the showroom, trade events, and promotional literature.
Requirements
Experience:
Proven leadership in a Digital Marketing or Ecommerce role, ideally within B2B, wholesale, or product-led industries.
Technical Expertise:
Deep familiarity with Magento (or similar CMS), Adobe Suites, GA4, and email platforms like Klaviyo or Mailchimp.
Performance Track Record:
Evidence of managing PPC budgets and linking marketing activity directly to revenue growth.
Education:
Degree in Marketing or Business; CIM Level7 (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
Mindset:
A commercial thinker who views marketing as a revenue driver rather than just a brand exercise.
