Job Description


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing marketing team at Schofield & Sims, a leading independent publisher of books for schools, parents and tutors. Specialising in educational resources for Primary and Early Years, Schofield & Sims has proudly supported schools with high-quality books for over 120 years.

We\'re now looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Executive to support all marketing activity for a widening portfolio of educational books and resources.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist the Head of Marketing in all areas of the marketing mix, but will have individual responsibilities for:

  • Planning and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns on time and within budget
  • Writing persuasive copy for social media, newsletters, website and blogs
  • Crafting and scheduling effective email marketing
  • Working closely with third-party design and web agencies
  • Supporting sales colleagues with exhibition and conference marketing
  • Maintaining and updating print collateral from across the Schofield & Sims list
  • Analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting results
Who we are looking for

You should be an enthusiastic marketer with a passion for education and helping children learn. You will ideally have knowledge of the Primary/Early Years sector, either from working in a school or for a company within the wider education or publishing sector, although this is not essential.

Must-have skills required for the role include:
  • A minimum of 3 years of marketing experience
  • An understanding of effective email journeys and lead generation
  • An ability to understand multiple customer types
  • Broad knowledge of digital marketing techniques
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A creative flair and willingness to bring new ideas
  • Professional, proactive and organised team player
Desirable skills and knowledge:
  • Familiarity with using HubSpot CRM
  • Proficiency with using Canva or other design software
Role progression

Within one month you\'ll learn the nuts and bolts of publishing, our history and where we\'re going. Within three months, you can expect to craft and deliver your marketing campaigns across our list.

What we offer

For the successful candidate, a competitive salary starting from \xc2\xa328,000 + bonus is offered but could increase depending on experience. You will be based in our offices in central London but with the opportunity to work remotely for part of the week.
