Job Description

About Neuron

Founded in 2020, Neuron was established by experienced engineers passionate about transforming the building industry through technology. Our mission is to combine deep engineering expertise with advanced software, enabling real-time solutions that redefine how buildings are designed.

We developed a proprietary cloud-based design platform capable of performing thousands of calculations in milliseconds, empowering engineers to deliver rapid, optimised solutions.

Following the success of Neuron 1.0 (focused on residential projects), we've launched Neuron 2.0, expanding into complex built forms such as commercial and healthcare developments. This next phase involves delivering live projects across Australia and the UK while continuously enhancing our platform.

Neuron hires forward-thinking engineers, particularly from Building Services, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, and aerospace/aeronautical backgrounds and is proud of its strong record in developing graduates into industry-leading professionals.

The Role

We are seeking a graduate engineer to join our delivery team, contributing to the design of real-world building projects. You'll gain hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, and lift systems for diverse projects, from mid-rise towers to major precincts.

You'll also have opportunities to assist our development team in improving Neuron's tools for the UK, US, and Australian markets. Working alongside a highly experienced international team, including the company's directors, you'll gain exposure to engineering design, software development, and next-generation building technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery team in designing building services for live projects. Assist in developing and refining Neuron's design tools across regions. Gain hands-on experience across multiple engineering disciplines. Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance Neuron's commercial platform. Conduct data collection, database management, and program testing. Participate in brainstorming and problem-solving sessions with engineers, developers, and project stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

Academic exposure to building services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, lifts) preferred but not essential. Strong Excel skills (advanced proficiency advantageous). Basic coding knowledge beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication. Analytical thinker and quick learner. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and focus.

What You'll Work On

You'll help design and optimise engineering systems for complex buildings, improving energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. You'll contribute to tool development, data analysis, and testing--gaining exposure to automation, simulation, and cutting-edge software applications in building engineering.

Your Day-to-Day

Assist in designing real projects and applying engineering principles. Manage data and test program functionality. Collaborate with engineers, developers, architects, and project managers. Contribute to platform enhancements and technical research. Experience the full lifecycle of building services design--from concept to delivery.

Culture & Work Environment

Neuron is a dynamic start-up with a passion for sustainability, technology, and innovation. We value transparency, curiosity, and collaboration. Mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, and initiative is encouraged.

You'll work directly with our company directors and senior engineers, benefiting from close mentorship in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Long-Term Opportunities

Exposure to the future of building technology and digital engineering. Accelerated experience in full-building design. Clear pathways for full-time employment and career growth.
