We are looking for a

Marketing Executive

to join our marketing team at our Support Centre in Middlesbrough. This is a brand-new role within the business, offering the opportunity to shape the position around your strengths while gaining exposure to a wide range of marketing activities and training opportunities.

JT Atkinson is a family-owned, independent Builders' Merchant with over 160 years' experience supplying building materials to both the trade and public. The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role that would suit candidates from different marketing backgrounds. Depending on your experience you can help to shape the role in a variety of different ways.

Perhaps you have experience managing

paid or organic social media

, creating engaging content and analysing performance.
Or maybe you're an

email marketing specialist

, confident in building campaigns, managing audiences and driving engagement.
You could have worked in a

marketing agency environment

, juggling multiple campaigns and deadlines.
Or you might come from a

graphic design background

, with a strong eye for branding and visual storytelling.

Whatever your specialism, you'll have the opportunity to apply your skills while developing new ones in a supportive environment.

On a typical day, you could be designing email campaigns, organising a trade event, maybe you're creating and managing social media ads or reporting on the effectiveness of a door drop campaign. You might be producing print advertisements or digital posters or attending a site survey to plan new shop signage. You'll work closely with the Marketing Manager across a wide range of digital and below-the-line marketing activities.

No two days will be the same as you use your creativity, attention to detail and excellent written skills to strengthen our brand awareness in our stores and across our digital platforms.

Essential Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related discipline Minimum of 2 years' experience in a marketing, digital, creative or agency-based role Detail-oriented with an eye for strong visuals and design Someone who's proactive, independent, and knows how to take initiative. Strong written communication skills Strong analytical skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

Professional Marketing Qualification e.g. CIM Experience managing paid social media or digital advertising campaigns Familiarity and experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is advantageous Experience with email marketing platforms e.g. Klaviyo (Desirable) Background in ecommerce Experience with website content management systems Interest in the building trade, construction or DIY
