SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Marketing Executive, who will support the Commercial Manager in designing, developing and implementing robust and measurable marketing communications and campaigns to generate exposure, deliver propositions and drive a sustained transactional journey with our customer base through constant visibility within the business and branch network.

What does the role involve?
Your key responsibilities as a Marketing Executive will be:

  • Work independently and as part of a team to develop, support and implement the marketing activities in line with the Marketing strategy and overall business objectives.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in developing, co-ordinating and producing all marketing activities for Ockwells
  • Consult with key stakeholders to assist shaping ideas and initiatives in line with business objectives.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in implementing and launch of new marketing materials, communications and initiatives to the business
  • Liaise with Ockwells Procurement Manager and/or Suppliers to obtain and clarify accurate and relevant information on new and existing products
  • Create and publish marketing material with clear and accurate information i.e. product literature, product installation guides, campaign specific literature and collateral, case studies, website content, social media content etc.
  • Implement and launch product marketing material and communications, on promotions and new product introductions and produce all the associated marketing literature and collateral
  • Work with the SIG Digital team to ensure that the Ockwells website is maintained and up to date.
  • Contribute to the team goals by accomplishing related results as required.
  • Support the wider management team with ad hoc projects upon request.
  • Work closely and build relationships with external service providers i.e. design and print agencies, other platform providers such as ShowPad and audio marketing etc.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to understand and improve engagement with campaigns.
  • Think strategically about customers and the market to deliver innovative and value-add propositions
  • Analyse and identify opportunities for change and continuous improvement within the team - challenge existing practices
  • Provide administrative support in the creation of the marketing initiatives; collating the associated data and producing reports
  • Ensure the team focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and meeting customers\' expectations through effective business processes and that review and monitoring of performance against targets occurs and necessary adjustments made to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as a role model where you demonstrate the Ockwells/SIG behaviours and engender a culture within the business which generates profit whilst recognising and promoting the absolute importance of health and safety, and environmentally responsible behaviour. Promote the highest standards of business ethics and compliance with corporate requirements. Ensure that all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:
  • Previous marketing experience in similar role - at least 2-3 years
  • Experience in both On and Offline marketing
  • Understanding of key marketing principals
  • Strong copy writing abilities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience briefing agencies in the creation of literature, digital, PR, events and exhibitions
  • A passionate self-motivated self-starter with high energy and resilience, who can understand a brief and translate it into meaningful end results
  • A confident self-starter who displays a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Able to draw on both a creative and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who establishes and maintains strong relationships within the business and externally
  • A rational thinker who can manage tight deadlines and adapt to meet changing priorities
  • A team player who is flexible, adaptable and receptive to new ideas
  • Displays a willingness to challenge and \'push-back\' on existing practices and ideas
  • Pragmatic problem solver, who uses their initiative to overcome constraints and deliver results
  • Understanding and experience of using social media
  • Experience using / creating email marketing campaigns (Adestra / Campaign Monitor etc.)
  • Experience in briefing and working with external agencies and service providers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience/knowledge of HTML etc. - useful but not essential
  • Able to demonstrate integrity, fairness and professionalism at all times
