About Us:
We are a small, independent art gallery and gift shop in the heart of Belfast City Centre, dedicated to showcasing the original work of a single contemporary artist. We're looking for a friendly and motivated individual to help us market our art work, grow our audience and sell paintings, while also providing support within the gallery.
Role Overview:
This is a role combines marketing responsibilities, sales and front-of-house duties. It would be ideal for a recent marketing graduate, or someone with a marketing background who's looking to gain hands-on experience in a gallery setting. Willingness to be proactive about selling the art, or sales experience a plus. The role involves selling art to clients in the gallery as well as approaching appropriate local businesses, hotels, and other venues.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
Create engaging content for social media, the website, email lists etc
Assist in curating and scheduling posts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Help manage and grow our online presence by engaging with followers and monitoring performance
Approaching a wide variety of businesses directly to pitch art sales
Contribute to planning and executing email marketing campaigns
Use tools such as Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager to support promotional activity
Assist in maintaining and updating the website (no coding necessary)
Gallery Support
Welcome and assist visitors to the gallery, providing friendly and informative service
Help maintain a clean, organised, and professional gallery environment
Carry out basic admin tasks as needed
Very basic print framing (training provided)
Be responsible for tracking and maintaining stock levels
Ideal Candidate:
A marketing or creative communications graduate (or equivalent experience)
Experience in sales, with confidence in selling directly to clients and businesses
Excellent written and visual communication skills
Familiarity with platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, Google Ads, Google Sheets, and social media scheduling tools
Interest in visual art and confidence interacting with the public
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
