Your work environment:
A vacancy has arisen in Wantage (UK) for a Master Data Team Leader (SAP). Reporting to the Master Data and VAT Manager,you will be acting as the first line of leadership for the Master Data Management (MDM) team within the European Shared Service Centre. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all master data in SAP and JDE systems, while overseeing the performance, development, and workload management of the Assistant Controllers. The Team Leader drives continuous improvement, efficiency and customer satisfaction across materials management and business partner master data domains.
Your mission in Crown
Oversee, review, and approve the work of Master Data Assistant Controllers to ensure all activities comply with SOX requirements, Crown policies, and audit standards
Ensure that all Assistant Controller tasks are performed, reviewed, and completed accurately and on time
Forecast and manage the workload of the Assistant Controller team, balancing priorities and resources effectively
Deliver year-on-year efficiency improvements across materials management and business partner (Address Book) master data processes
Drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, automation, and the application of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
Monitor and report on team performance using KPIs and metrics, analysing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement
Develop, coach, and manage the Assistant Controllers to achieve high performance and professional growth
Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development planning for each team member
Actively seek, analyse, and respond to feedback from internal customers and stakeholders to improve MDM services
Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the MDM team and other departments within the Shared Service Centre
Support the Master Data Manager in driving process standardisation, governance, and data quality improvement initiatives
Support the implementation of RPA and automation tools to streamline master data processes

About you
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
Degree-level education or equivalent experience in business, finance, or data management
Proven experience in master data management within SAP and/or JD Edwards systems
Demonstrable team leadership or supervisory experience within a finance, operations or data management environment
Experience ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or similar control frameworks
Previous experience in a shared service function
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Excellent planning, organisation, and workload management skills
Strong understanding of master data processes, controls, and governance
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, compliance, and efficiency
Proactive and self-motivated leader with strong interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Resilient under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities
