Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Master Scheduler to join our Manufacturing Planning team. This role will be based at our Staverton site.

Role Summary:
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a valid MPS and Production Schedule for material and capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for product. You will make complex decisions on business issues taking into account customer service, quality, manufacturing and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Create, manage and Maintain MPS based on demand requirements from actual Sales Orders, Forecast and Reorder Points. Using this to create weekly Production Schedules based on short term capacity information.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand capacity constraints, material availabilities, reduce leadtimes, and exceed customer expectations.
Maintain planned scheduling parameters such as lead time, lot size, safety stock, delivery times, standard times and order file data for all master scheduled items.
Resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability.
Monitor orders against forecast; calculate forecast error and communicate to internal stakeholders to drive review and correction to demand
Provide feedback to the wider business regarding best customer delivery dates and shortages
Where applicable, to monitor and suggest stock levels through SIOP from liaising with Programme managers and supply chain.
Create reports on labour utilisation and provide capacity plans as necessary for resource requirements
Create, understand and make recommendations regarding conformance to plan
Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal master schedule stability, order creation, rescheduling, load leveling, etc
Continually look for ways to improve processes within Planning; provide recommendations for process improvement across department that support operational goals for customer service, quality, reduction in cost and innovation
Leadership and line management responsibility for assigned employees as appropriate, including appraisal, sickness absence and performance management
Task allocation and delegation of responsibilities as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Experience with planning production in a diverse discreet manufacturing environment
Experience with automated master production scheduling, capacity management and shop floor applications. (Visual ERP experience desirable)
Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Capable of being a self starter with a minimal amount of direct supervision
Must be proficient in MRP, Master Production Scheduling systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Possess a thorough understanding of forecasting and master production scheduling principals in both make-to-stock and make-to-order environments
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload to achieve results.
Ter Identifies problems and takes appropriate action based on evaluation of all possible options
Initiates supports or responds to change by continually striving to improve processes or performance consistent with the needs of the business
Works effectively with others throughout the Company towards the attainment of Company goals
Considers the financial and commercial implications when taking action/making decisions
