Material Controller / Production Planner / Luton / \xc2\xa321-\xc2\xa322 per hour
Temporary Contract

Are you a proactive Material Controller/Production Planner with a passion for ensuring seamless material flow in a manufacturing environment? Our Client are seeking a motivated Material Controller to join their team in Luton.

As a Material Controller, you will play a crucial role in optimising the movement of materials within our manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be on streamlining material flow to meet production schedules, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting the delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently plan, coordinate, and control material movement in line with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Review, release, and manage internal Production/Service orders to align with the MPS and customer requirements.
  • Expedite internal manufacturing processes to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Utilise SAP and other relevant systems to track material availability and maintain accurate work in progress status.
  • Provide timely feedback to the Planning Manager on estimated finish dates and potential delays.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth material flow and resolve any issues.
  • Actively participate in daily Production reviews and Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, offering valuable insights for re-prioritisation when required.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external suppliers to streamline operations and logistics.
  • Support the implementation of First Article Inspection (FAI) and Material Review Board (MRB) actions.
  • Communicate effectively with the Industrial Engineering team to ensure accurate rework descriptions and timings.
  • Facilitate the efficient delivery of kits to and from all manufacturing and engineering areas.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in material control and planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) management is advantageous.
