The Material Prepper plays a crucial role in the preparation and assembly of materials for production processes. Duties
Prepare materials by cutting, shaping, and assembling components as per specifications.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform fabrication tasks.
Conduct basic welding tasks to join materials together as required.
Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during material preparation.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are stored properly after use.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to quality standards.
Assist in inventory management by tracking material usage and reporting shortages.
Follow safety protocols to minimise risks associated with working in a warehouse environment.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding operational workflows.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations during tasks.

Due to growing demand, we are currently recruiting preparation operatives to join a well-established, friendly, fast-growing company.
You will be working in a small team, preparing parts to a high standard to allow them to be painted, ready to send to our world class customers.
The successful candidate will enjoy physical work and have a 'can do' attitude.
Reliability is key, as well as attention to detail and safety.
The ideal candidate will have experience using body filler and an orbital sander, however full training is given, so this is not essential.
The role is an alternating shift pattern, one week days, next week afternoons
6am - 2 pm Monday - Thursday and 6am -12 noon on a Friday. The following week, 2 pm - 10pm Monday - Thursday and 12 noon - 6pm Friday
Overtime is paid at 16.80 Monday to Friday, 18.90 Sat and 22.05 Sun (Sat and Sun shifts are 6am -11am)
There is also a shift allowance of 1.23 per hour for an afternoon shift for contracted hours.
Salary: 12.60 per hour
These rates will increase after a 6-month probationary period.
