Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Specialist to play a key role in the development and delivery of components for the Material Processing industry, with a particular emphasis on conveying systems.

The successful candidate will work alongside our sales team and directly with industry-leading OEM customers, supporting the design, development, and integration of components across Distag QCS's product lines, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

This is a customer-facing, technically focused role that combines product development, engineering design, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Design

Lead the design, specification, and development of components for conveying systems, as well as crushers, screeners, and shredders. Work with CAD software to produce detailed component drawings and technical documentation. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to deliver cost-effective, high-performance solutions.

Technical Support

Provide technical expertise to our OEM customer base and internal sales teams. Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend product or design improvements.

Customer & Market Engagement

Work directly with industry-leading OEMs to develop tailored solutions for material processing machinery. Build strong, long-term relationships with key accounts. Identify opportunities for new product development and expansion into related systems. Represent Distag QCS at customer sites, technical meetings, and trade events.

Project & Process Management

Manage product development projects from concept through to production and market release. Coordinate with internal teams (Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, and Sales) to ensure projects are delivered to specification and on time. Maintain accurate records of product data, drawings, and technical files.

Key Requirements

Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). Experience in the Material Processing, Quarrying, Recycling, or Bulk Handling industries. Strong technical knowledge of conveying systems, along with crushers, screeners, and shredders. Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy equipment. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent), not essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical and customer requirements. Willingness to travel to OEM customer sites and supplier facilities.
