The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:




The Materials & Processes(M&P) Engineer is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service.

Main responsibilities:



Valuate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components. Support engineering drawing release process and Engineering Change Order review. Technically support Procurement/QA/Manufacturing operations related to M&P: supply chain processing issues, specifications, internal procedures, and data card approvals. Support technical review of in-service product investigations (FRACAS) and customer product concerns. Respond to material availability and suitable substitutions Act as focal for REACH requirements and evaluate site impact. Support identification and testing of alternative products. Support internal and external special process audits Support efficiency and cost reduction projects as applicable. High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent. Minimum of four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace. Expertise in materials and processes related topics such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing Dynamic, autonomous and is equipped with thorough analytical capabilities, she/he is interested in resolving complex technical problems. Welcomes teamwork and supports the internal and external customers. Able to work on many issues at the same time with the sense of priority. Good skill to write technical report and communicate. Good English speaking and writing; French language speaking and writing is an advantage. Operates with minimal supervision: Keeps the department head informed of key developments and major issues related to M&PE Available to travel between local sites and outside of country when necessary.
