We are an exciting and well-equipped test facility, providing a Materials Testing service to industries such Aeronautical, Formula One, Defence and Renewable Energy.

Our laboratory has an international reputation for delivering reliable, accurate test data alongside excellent customer service, within the fast-growing industry of composite materials.

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Technician to join our fantastic team. This is a superb opportunity to join one of the UK's leading composite test houses.

This is an interesting and varied job role. The successful applicant will be working within a small team, reporting directly to a Section Leader, and will gain skills such as:

Understanding of non-metallic materials and their use in industry.

The manufacture of test specimens - using a variety of specialised techniques and equipment.

Performing of mechanical, and thermal testing by operating our sophisticated test machines.

Undertaking destructive tests such as Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, Tensile, Compression.

The visual analysis of test specimens to determine the failure mode.

The analysis of test data.

The creation of technical reports.

Skills/ Qualifications



Although full training will be provided to the right applicant, we require the following as a guide:

Engineering/Science based BTEC National; or engineering/science based NVQ Level 3; or A Levels (preferably Maths and Science). Hands on manufacturing/ testing experience within composites is desirable, and may be considered as alternative to more formal qualifications. An interest in composites/ materials Experience with data monitoring and analysis beneficial. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Good communication skills- both verbal and written. Methodical approach to problem solving. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to plan and manage workload and meet strict deadlines. Enjoy practical work. Organised

A Competitive salary with 22 days annual leave (pro-rata) and a contributory pension plan.

This full-time role has a 40 hour working week (incudes paid lunch break) - which can be worked as a 4 day week or other negotiable pattern.

Pay: 26,000.00-28,000.00 per year
