Gallagher Aggregates are seeking for a Materials Technician to join our team at Hermitage Quarry, Maidstone.

As a Materials Technician, you will be reporting to the Technical Manager. You will source, test, and assess the material produced within the aggregates business, bulk aggregate, and concrete related products. Ensure materials are compliant with the relevant requirements, monitoring trends and reporting non-compliance to Technical Manager

Salary:

Competitive salary dependant on experience.

Hours:

07:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. Weekend working as and when required.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Sampling and testing of aggregates, concrete and other materials where required. Attending customer's sites and investigating customer's complaints. Monitor result trends and suggest ways to continually optimise the materials. Reporting of any material defects. Excellent communication and team working skills. Good levels in IT literacy. A continuous performance improvement mindset. Strict adherence to all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting of any incident/accident of any nature to the Technical Manager. Researching the properties of materials.

Specific responsibilities:

Lead by example on safety modelling behaviour. Be focused on Carbon Reduction opportunities.

Candidates must:

Believe in and uphold our company values. Have analytical thinking skills. Have excellent verbal communication skills. Be thorough and pay attention to detail. Have some materials testing experience would be an advantage. Hold a full UK driving license.
