Maternity Cover Part Time Finance Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for part-time Finance Assistant to join our finance team, whilst our current assistant is on maternity leave. Although this will be a fixed term contract, there may be the opportunity for a permanent role depending on business needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of experience in a finance role, particularly in accounts payable/receivable or as a finance assistant.

The ideal candidate will be a key member of the finance team, taking on a varied range of tasks and responsibilities, with some admin tasks for the office.

All other members of the finance team are based in Dubai, so strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude are essential. You will be reporting to the Finance Manager (based in Dubai) . You must be comfortable managing your time efficiently, handling ad-hoc requests, and supporting non-finance team members with general queries (including but not limited to VAT questions, payment requests, payslip inquiries, and company car queries).

This role is perfect for someone who would like to have the flexibility of part time work in an office environment.

Responsibilities



Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. Reconcile supplier statements and assist with monthly payment run setups. Learn and assist with the company's procurement process, providing cover when needed. Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Manage time effectively and confidently handle phone calls and communications with suppliers, customers when needed, and internal stakeholders. Ensure correct data entry and VAT compliance. Assist with managing the fleet for company cars. Adhoc office task Help with monthend prep when needed and requested. Employee expense reviews and payroll assistance

Skills and Experience



At least 2 years of experience in a finance role, such as Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable/Receivable, or similar.

Proficiency in Excel and experience with Xero is a plus. Great problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. AAT Level 3 Qualified or equivalent is desired Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail. Comfortable being the only finance person in the UK, with the ability to manage time efficiently and handle ad-hoc requests.
This role is based full-time in the office.

Monday to Friday

20 hours a week over 5 days (hours can be discussed)
