We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic Maths Specialist teacher to join our growing team. If you have high expectations and the ability to inspire our students to reach their full potential, we welcome your application.

We are a trauma-informed school with an attached alternative provision specialising in bespoke academic support through 1:1 and very small group mental health/ trauma/ SEN services and interventions. It is essential that candidates have experience and confidence in behaviour management due to the nature of our setting.

We are seeking an exceptional Maths Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate practitioner who can bring maths to life for pupils who may have struggled in mainstream settings, including those with SEN, SEMH needs, or disrupted educational experiences.



The Maths Specialist will deliver high-quality Maths teaching up to GCSE level, ensuring that even the most reluctant or anxious learners develop confidence, competence, and a sense of achievement. Alongside academic outcomes, the specialist will focus on building positive relationships, nurturing self-belief, and supporting students to engage meaningfully in learning.



The role also includes teaching and leading Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level to Level 2), ensuring pupils access appropriate pathways that match their starting points and long-term goals.



The successful applicants should:



- Be able to work within a team to create and implement bespoke learning pathways for our students aligning with our school Curriculum

- Be able to deliver high quality teaching

- Have exceptional behaviour management skills

- Be flexible in all aspects of teaching and learning and pastoral/ behaviour

- Be organised and able to delegate to assistant staff as appropriate

- Have experience and an understanding of the needs of children with SEN, and a willingness to adapt as necessary and provide an individualised experience for every single child

- Adhere to the ethos of our school

Who are we looking for?



The staff member will:

Have a minimum of 3 years experience working with children or families with SEN or challenging behaviours

- Consider safeguarding an utmost priority and an ability to deal with safeguarding incidents swiftly and confidently

- Be an excellent team player and actively promote a team ethos

- Have an understanding of the social and emotional issues which may face our students, and use trauma-informed strategies when delivering

- Follow our behaviour policy, and be capable of setting expectations and boundariesDevelop positive relationships with students based on our ethos of 'connection before correction'

- Promote equality and diversity

- Develop good working relationships with colleaguesLiaise with leadership team as appropriate to promote overall positive centre mental health and wellbeing

Working days:

Monday- Friday term time only plus 3 days during school holidays

Working hours:

40 hours per week

The core hours of the business are 8am - 6pm. We require all staff to be in-centre for a minimum of the hours of 9am-3pm plus required training or meetings, but the additional duties can be completed throughout the core hours. This is performance based

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
