Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Skills Maths Lecturer to join the prison-based Education Team, delivering Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level to Level 2 and unit awards in Maths from Entry level to Level 2. We would prefer that candidates already hold a minimum Level 3 teaching Qualification.


We are seeking a creative and inspiring Tutor who can deliver engaging classes to learners who are based within the prison. As a Functional Skills Maths Lecturer, you will be supporting learners to achieve success and guiding them through the courses. You will not only help them to achieve qualifications, but also confidence and skills they can apply to employment upon release, or to other areas within education. The role will be a blend of classroom based in the morning at HMP Springhill and delivery based on wings and in classrooms in the afternoon at HMP Grendon.
