Hope Tree School is a small, not for profit independent school just outside of Cambridge. The school, founded by parents of autistic children, is one of only two schools for autistic girls in the country. We are a small but ambitious school, with 28 students on roll across KS2 and KS3 with an overall capacity for 36 (at the moment).
As we grow and add to our provision we continue to build our staff team, looking for individuals who have an interest in working with autistic students, who want to make a difference and who want to work in an environment where their input is valued. As a school, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and nurturing learning environment. We offer a true hybrid model, balancing therapeutic support alongside delivering the academic aims of the National Curriculum. Our recent Ofsted report reflected the exceptional learning environment we have created here, also noting that 'incidents of poor behaviour are extremely rare.'
We are looking for an experienced maths teacher to join our team. You would be joining us at an exciting time in our journey as a school, as we support our first KS4 cohort through GCSE qualifications. Experience of teaching Maths in both KS3 and KS4 would be ideal. We welcome applications both from teachers who currently work in a SEN setting, as well as those looking to move from mainstream settings. The role is initially offered with part time hours, but could be combined with an additional subject to make a full time post.
Suitable candidates who have availability for a September 2025 start would be welcome, but the job role could start later to take account of notice periods.
We welcome prospective applicants to arrange a visit to our wonderful school and get a feel for what we do here, as well as providing an opportunity for you to ask any questions prior to applying.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Before appointment to any role in the school, checks including an Enhanced DBS Check and workplace references will be undertaken, in accordance with current statutory guidance. Evidence of eligibility to work in the UK is required. A one-year probationary period will also apply.
Hope Tree School is committed to fostering an inclusive culture that promotes and values diversity and celebrates the diverse voice of our community.
This role has the opportunity for regular contact with students and therefore it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. By applying for this role you are consenting to Hope Tree School storing your personal data.
