Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate self-employed Maths Tutor to join our Alternative Provision educational team for 10 hours a week, during the day, during school term times.. More hours may be available in future.

The ideal candidate will have a background in tutoring or teaching, with experience working with teenagers, including those with special educational needs.

This role is perfect for individuals who are committed to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students achieve their academic goals.

Duties

Provide one-on-one tutoring tailored to the individual needs of the student. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address specific learning objectives. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure effective learning outcomes. Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student confidence and motivation. Communicate effectively with us regarding student performance and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, with an understanding of educational principles. Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and their families. Strong organisational skills to manage lesson planning and student records efficiently. A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed academically.
