WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for someone to join our small central team of likeminded MBS experts, responsible for developing new MBS methods to support full vehicle simulations for end-users across a wide range of areas such as vehicle dynamics, powertrain, NVH and Durability and Robustness. This position is suited to someone with a can-do attitude willing to develop and maximise their career within the future of automotive technologies. You will be an important part in the development of new vehicle simulation methods resulting in the safety, durability and robustness of JLR vehicles.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop new Multi-Body-Simulation methods and load cases for MBS users throughout the business both inside and outside of D&R, including areas such as vehicle dynamics, Powertrain, NVH etc
  • Support the continual development of tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and robustness of Virtual models
  • Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.
  • Support the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet Durability and Robustness performance targets
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

As the MBS Engineer you will need to hold a relevant formal qualification such as degree or time served apprenticeship within Mechanical engineering or similar. You will have previous experience in supporting engineering or analytical projects.

ESSENTIAL
  • Knowledge and experience of MBS (e.g using Simpack/Adams/ Similar)
  • Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
  • Experience using Programming Languages such as (Fortran/ C++/ Java/ QtScript/ Similar)
