Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic M&E Lead Engineer with an excellent and proven track record in the supervision of technical engineering teams to join our contract.
The role will be responsible for carrying out a range of Technical and general duties across a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings and must be qualified/competent to maintain HV/LV and mechanical building services. They will report to the Head of Operations (South) and will be an integral part of the team which delivers reactive, planned, and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
Suitable training and up-skilling will be provided to achieve the necessary competency and standard required to perform in this role.
Main Responsibilities
To supervise and coordinate a team in the daily, weekly and monthly delivery of all maintenance related activities ensuring our contractual and compliance obligations are met
To schedule and undertake planned preventative maintenance on Mechanical & Electrical installations and services with a focus on building critical systems to ensure zero interruption to the client's operations
Daily monitoring & responsibility of all main plant & equipment within buildings to ensure a safe working environment for all building occupiers and users

Undertake both ad-hoc and planned maintenance in line with Approved Codes of Practices, British and International Standards, regulations and industry bodies best practice, which also includes SFG20
Ensure all compliance certification is valid in date, in place and clearly organised
Communication & liaison with both suppliers & specialist contractors for parts & repair requirements, as dictated by the contract CAFM system aligned with PPM & Reactive activities.
Liaise with operational teams to ensure compliant, safe and sufficient delivery of services through third party sub-contractors This will include the sign-off of RAMS and issuance of Permit to Work or Authority to Work as appropriate and in-line with Mitie SSOWs.
Liaise / interface with other external bodies to ensure the smooth delivery of services
Carry out instructions as required, on M&E related installations or specific requirements generated through Mitie Management.
Ensure all reactive tasks are raised through the helpdesk and delivered within their SLA
Reactive attendance to emergency breakdowns including any subsequent fault diagnosis & repair, to ensure the client's business continuity is maintained at all times. This may include Out of Hours response from time-to-time
Experience
To support a strong safety culture across the contract, ensuring appropriate RAMS and safe systems of work in place
Ensure appropriate training records are in place for the team
Support operational & QSHE safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure overall compliance across the account
In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined you may be required to perform other duties assigned and requested by your line manager.
Applicants ideally need to be able demonstrate at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity working with technical teams in either Building Services or Facilities Management. They will be responsible for themselves and others to ensure we maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent UK and EU amendments. They will provide health and safety management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements.
Essential Skills:
Good Oral and written communication
Ability to supervise teams and work across all levels of management vertically and horizontally
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience working within either Building Services or Facilities Management
Competency and understanding of Statutory Compliance
IT Literate (Good Maximo & Microsoft Office Skills)
SFG20 competency and understanding
Qualifications

Good interpersonal and Influencing skills
Good knowledge of Facilities management and Building services
Technical report provision
City and Guilds NVQ level 3 in electrical engineering & Installation or equivalent
Building services - City and Guilds NVQ level 3 or equivalent
IET Wiring Regs to 18th edition BS7671:2018
High Voltage Authorised Persons Course
City & Guilds 2391 test and inspection - desirable
Mechanical engineering - NVQ level 3 or equivalent - desirable
ACOP L8 Legionella Responsible Person
Holds relevant professional, technical or management qualifications, and experience
Desirable:
Asbestos Responsible Person training
Maximo Planning & Integration
Knowledge of Maximo or similar CAFM systems.
BPSS (Baseline) and will need to obtain SC clearance. DV clearance advantageous
Previously held positions as Authorised Person for Electrical, Working at Height, confined space and Asbestos highly advantageous
