Job Description

To be part of a team, consisting of highly skilled, autonomous, and competent Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Technicians, assisting in the preventive and corrective maintenance of all electromechanical systems of Eurotunnel's Tunnel and terminal buildings.


You will have the ability to competently fault diagnose and conduct repairs on M&E safety critical equipment including automation, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and building services. The role requires you to attend development training and be open to train others. As an M&E Technician, you will deliver small projects, and be willing to work towards being a fully autonomous technician, who is willing to continuously support all colleagues within the M&E and Infrastructure department.

To be aware of and comply, with Eurotunnel's safety and security core principles promoting continuous safety improvements and a positive safety culture. Participate in "field safety talks", safety audits, and incident and accident reporting. Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with the maintenance instructions and record in the Maintenance Management System. Respond to anomaly reports from M&E customers. To interface with Railway Control Centre (RCC), Traffic Control Centre (TCC), and Maintenance Control Centre (MCC), on the operation of the electromechanical equipment. To complete consignation including the necessary safety documentation. Be aware of Minimum Operating Requirements, (MOR) and take the necessary corrective action to prevent breaching. Assist with validation of maintenance documentation and consequent improvements to the systems. Participate and conduct ongoing training aligned with the job requirements. Assist other systems and equipment services as and when required. To participate in and promote the binational working relationship of the department. To complete all the necessary administrative shift reports and documentation. Participate in the organisation and planning of the maintenance as and when required. To make sure that quality insurance arrangements as described in various documents are respected and any revised documents are read, understood, and acknowledged. Any other duties relevant to the position which may from time to time be requested by your Director/ Manager/ Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience



Gained an electrical or mechanical qualification to ONC level or post apprenticeship with proven demonstratable work experience in a technical environment. Previous experience working in a Mechanical and Electrical environment is essential. Experience in industrial automated Mechanical and Electrical equipment and maintenance. Experience in industrial maintenance. A valid Driving License and Passport are essential. The ability to communicate in French and/or another European language would be an advantage.

Follows policies and procedures and complies fully with Legal obligations and safety requirements of the role. Adept in building positive relationships with others, contributing to a positive team atmosphere. The ability to confidently converse with others, demonstrating effective listening skills. Motivated by change and the learning of new systems and technology. Punctual, reliable, and flexible to meet operational demands and business needs. To work a roster which covers a 24-hour period, 7 days a week. Willing to participate in an on-call roster. To meet the required medical standard for the position.
