Butcher

Job Summary:



We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about meat quality, possess excellent knife skills, and be committed to providing exceptional customer service. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting various types of meat, ensuring proper handling and storage, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and assisting customers with their selections.

Responsibilities:



Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries in accordance with food safety standards. Break down carcasses and large cuts of meat into smaller, retail-ready portions (e.g., steaks, roasts, chops, ground meat). Utilise various butchering tools and equipment, including saws, slicers, grinders, and knives, safely and efficiently. Trim, bone, tie, and grind meats to specification. Prepare specialty cuts and custom orders as requested by customers. Ensure all meat products are fresh, visually appealing, and correctly priced and labeled. Maintain accurate inventory records of meat products. Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the day. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance butchering skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar meat preparation role. In-depth knowledge of various cuts of meat, their characteristics, and appropriate preparation methods. Exceptional knife skills and proficiency with butchering tools and equipment. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP principles). Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precise cutting. Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
