The Job Mission
This role provides on-site mechanical construction surveillance across a range of key nuclear infrastructure systems. It focuses on ensuring quality compliance and construction standards are consistently upheld. You'll be out on site 90% of the time with a clear focus on reporting, oversight and assurance.
Monitor mechanical construction work to ensure contractor compliance with technical documentation
Identify and escalate non-conformance items and deviations through formal processes
Contribute QA/QC surveillance findings to construction and quality teams
Support mitigation actions to uphold safety and quality during active works
Ensure design decisions are referred through formal approval channels, not made in-field
Maintain strong stakeholder coordination and communication across site teams
Support performance reviews against Quality Control Plans and site KPIs
Help ensure records, inspections and standards are documented before works are covered
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training
3+ years' experience in QA/QC or mechanical installation surveillance
Knowledge of mechanical scopes like pipework, HVAC, rotating/static equipment
Familiarity with BTS, BST, ISO9001 or GQAS quality standards
Skilled in reporting and using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams
Proven ability to question, spot detail, and uphold high standards
Strong written communication and stakeholder liaison skills
Comfortable with 90% site presence in a quality assurance role

Experience with large mechanical installations or erection of heavy equipment
Prior role in a large-scale construction project environment
Working understanding of CDM obligations and approval processes
Knowledge of FME, joint integrity or alignment inspection checks
Experience supporting Quality Control Plans and inspection documentation
