Directorate
Supporting the University's core operations and ensuring students, visitors and staff are kept safe, secure and comfortable, the Estates Services team are responsible for our grounds, buildings and services.
What you will be doing:
Working as part of the Maintenance Team management group, you'll lead on the delivery of a range of mechanical and electrical (M&E) planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Contributing to the long-term maintenance plan, you'll also assess and monitor life cycles of key assets, determining and delivering programmes to overhaul, upgrade or replace these via an annual investment cycle.
You'll bring a strong technical understanding of M&E maintenance and small works, such that you can advise and support internal stakeholders to deliver their core activities. Commercially astute, you'll ensure best value and high quality delivery via a range of service providers and you'll apply your strong leadership skills to motivate, develop and continually improve the self-delivery team.
Qualifications/ experience:
A level 4 (HNC) qualification in a relevant subject area (Facilities Management, Maintenance, Engineering, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, etc) or relevant professional experience in one of these disciplines.
Experience of working on a range of building services activities including planned and reactive maintenance plus projects and system upgrades via both self-delivery and service providers.
