Job description
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer - HVAC to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves contributing to a major maritime project, with the opportunity for hybrid working based in Scotstoun.
Key Responsibilities:

• Designing mechanical systems with a focus on HVAC for maritime vessels
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of HVAC designs
• Conducting detailed engineering analysis and calculations to support design decisions
• Preparing technical documentation and reports to support project requirements
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers
• Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Attending project meetings and presenting mechanical design updates

Job Requirements:

• Experience as a Mechanical Designer or Engineer within the Defence & Security sector
• Specialised knowledge of HVAC systems and their application in maritime environments
• Proficiency in using relevant design and analysis software
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
