We combine sustainable engineering with continuous innovation to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the food service and environmental sectors.
The Role
We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer with strong AutoCAD and SolidWorks skills to join our growing engineering team. You'll develop and optimise GreaseShield products and conduct on-site surveys of commercial kitchens to support design, installation, and performance validation--with a strong focus on injection-moulded component design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and model components, assemblies, and systems in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Lead/assist the design of injection-moulded parts: DFM/DFA, draft, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, snap-fits, and tolerance stacks.
Prepare 2D drawings, GD&T, and BOMs; manage specifications and documentation.
Work with toolmakers and suppliers on tooling design, gate/runner strategy, cooling, and part validation.
Support development, prototyping, and validation of new GreaseShield models.
Conduct site surveys of commercial kitchens; measure, assess installation requirements, and create accurate drawings.
Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Installation teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of existing designs.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (essential).
Proven injection moulding experience (essential):
End-to-end plastic part design for injection moulding (consumer/industrial preferred).
Strong DFM/DFA practices and tolerance analysis; understanding of common polymers (e.g., PP, ABS, PA).
Exposure to tooling considerations and collaboration with mould/tool vendors through to T0/T1/T2.
Confident conducting on-site surveys and liaising with clients/contractors.
Experience in product design, manufacturing, or mechanical systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Able to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
Passion for innovation, sustainability, and practical engineering.
Desirable
Experience with sheet metal, fluid/pipe systems, or environmental technology.
Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and test methods; familiarity with ISO 9001 practices.
Mouldflow/Sim experience, GD&T depth, and PDM/PLM (e.g., SolidWorks PDM).
Familiarity with 3D printing/rapid prototyping for concept validation.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
What We Offer
Competitive salary: 35,000 - 45,000 (DOE).
Opportunity to work on award-winning green technology.
