The Role
We are seeking a
Mechanical Engineer
with strong
AutoCAD and SolidWorks
skills to join our growing engineering team. Based in Stockport, you will be involved in the design, development, and improvement of GreaseShield products, while also conducting
on-site surveys
of commercial kitchens across the UK & Ireland to support system design, installation, and performance evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and model components, assemblies, and systems in
SolidWorks
and
AutoCAD
.
Support development, prototyping, and testing of new GreaseShield models and technologies.
Conduct commercial kitchen site surveys, collect accurate measurements, and prepare technical drawings.
Develop components suitable for
injection moulding
and other manufacturing processes.
Produce and maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Installation teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
Troubleshoot and support continuous improvement of existing designs.
Ensure all work complies with engineering standards, manufacturing requirements, and safety regulations.
Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) in
Mechanical Engineering
or a related discipline.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD and SolidWorks
(essential).
Understanding of
injection-moulding design principles
.
Confident conducting site surveys and interacting with clients, installers, and contractors.
Experience in product development, mechanical systems, or manufacturing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently with strong organisational skills.
Passion for sustainable engineering and practical design.
Desirable Skills
Experience with
sheet metal
,
fluid/pipe systems
, or environmental technology.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods (fabrication, assembly, testing).
Experience with
3D printing
or
rapid prototyping
.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
